The Finance business partner is responsible for helping the business optimize decision making by providing insight, and challenge and support to the operations team. They will have a deep understanding of the manufacturing environment. They understand the probable financial implications of decisions on the Operations / Supply Chain functions, thereby having the ability to offer insightful advice and support to the function. The role is responsible for partnering with a unit of the function and provide decision support to the business leaders in this area with a focus on operational efficiency and cost control. It is a highly visible role and reports to the Senior Finance Business Partner in our Operations division. Key Responsibilities. Partner with operations team to review current insights and prepare new insights on financial and operational analysis to evaluate, monitor and drive business performance. Understand and drive operational unit / sub-unit performance by identifying, owning and developing the PIs/KPIs of commercial unit and related dashboards and reports on business objects. Develop and challenge strategic/business plans and identify areas of risk and opportunity. Work with operational teams to develop and challenge budgets/forecasts and provide insights into variances, work with the Commercial Finance Support team to develop and populate these budgets/forecasts. Support operations team in business case feasibility and development and provide on-going monitoring and evaluation of actual performance against same. Work closely with the Accounting & Control team to drive functional financial performance. Support the preparation of ad-hoc analysis and management reporting to assist operational business decisions, including but not limited to, Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Commercial negotiations & Project appraisal. Have a deep understanding of the external commercial environment thereby providing insight into cost control efforts. Working with the Commercial Finance Support team, perform calculations to establish accurate and consistent COGS. Where applicable, perform complex analysis to support Senior Finance BP Operations in overarching decision support. Contribute to monthly commentary / insights in monthly reporting packs. Support process improvement and optimisation being the key finance player in commercial/lean projects from identification through to planning and implementation phases. Role Requirements. Qualified Accountant or third level degree in a relevant finance or business discipline with relevant experience. 2-3 years post qualification experience in a dynamic environment, working in FMCG/Retail or Supply Chain/Production environments is preferred but not essential.
