Key Responsibilities: • Develop and Implement the Laboratory excellence Strategy in line with business growth plans. • As a member of the Quality Management Team support implementation of site-wide KPIs relating to: Testing Efficiency; Throughput; Sustainability, Quality, Health and Safety, C.I., Employee Engagement and Financial ROI targets. • Lead the Laboratories in delivering accurate and timely analysis on all raw material, in-process and finished product samples. • Establish Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) across all GI laboratories , delivering leading testing methodologies. • Manage and drive a Continuous Improvement culture across all laboratories. • Define and measure best practice methods and standards for each lab, both internal & external. • Train and up-skill lab staff in line with these best practices, ensuring employees are trained to the appropriate standard to carry out their full range of duties in Quality laboratories. • Contribute to the Performance management of the Laboratory teams. • Play a leadership role in establishing and managing service level agreements with third party labs. • Validate and approve all new third party laboratories and tests. • Demonstrate at least an equivalent laboratory program is in operation with all co manufacturers of finished products for Glanbia Ireland. • As part of the Quality community contribute to on-going development of best in class standards across the wider GI organisation. • Keep abreast of developments in the analytical field. Active participation and leadership of industry partnership forums. Key Requirements. • Experience in GLP – Good Laboratory Practices , 7 years + relevant industry experience working at a supervisory level in an ISO17025 controlled laboratory. • Significant experience in Test Method validation process. • Familiarization with data analytics and data trend analysis a distinct advantage. Utilization of test data to define key operational or analytical trends to drive continuous improvement. • Familiarity with laboratory investigation and reporting is desired. • Experience in the management of an automated food or IF testing environment adopting this expertise into a Right First Time testing program. • Previous experience with Food & Agri business regulations, Quality and a proven track record in managing multiple projects. • Project management skills also an advantage. Qualifications: • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related discipline. Glanbia Ireland is a joint venture 60% owned by Glanbia Co-op and 40% owned by Glanbia plc.
