Key Responsibilities. Working with the engineering team develop hygienic engineering design standards in the Plant. Responsible for end to end optimisation of microbiological standards across all plant processes across production, filling and packing, utilities and milk intake. Ensure development, implementation and maintenance of a robust environmental control and monitoring programme e.g. cleaning and sanitation practices, hygienic zoning etc. Act as Process SME (Subject Matter Expert) and technical support for all production impacting issues relating to microbiological standards. Establish performance standards and optimise performance across microbiological standards. Work closely with Plant Qualification Lead to qualify/re-qualify processes to the appropriate performance KPIs. Ensure testing is performed as per product specification requirements and cGMP. Support validation activities and cleaning verification. Engage with stakeholders including Quality and Production teams in the prioritisation, development, design and testing and implementation of new or enhanced processes. Monitor, report and trend on microbiological data and develop corrective actions relating to the environment and production processes. Troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities to enhance performance in microbiological standards. Ownership of microbiological driven documentation including design, development and roll-out of Standard Operating Procedures, Policies and training documentation. Completion of Quality Systems documentation relating to Change Control, Event Reports, etc. As SME for microbiological standards, work with training to design, plan and deliver training to new and existing employees. Key Requirements: A third level qualification in Food Science, Engineering or equivalent required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Food/Beverage or Pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors with particular experience in process/production management in a GMP environment. Experience in microbiology desirable. Demonstrate an ability to lead and drive change to achieve organisation standards. Demonstratestrong technical ability and attention to detail to do the job at a high level of accomplishment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to bring people with them for the best outcomes. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Ability to analyse data, recognise trends and recommend actions to drive continuous improvement.
