What you need to know. You will work as a Duty Manager for our client, a leading and renowned hotel in South Co. Kilkenny. This is a permanent job with a competitive salary. You will ensure that the hotel operates efficiently and effectively at all times. Your new job. Key duties & responsibilities: Providing excellence in customer care and service to all of guests. To ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints. In conjunction with the appointed managers, to assist in the implementation of the agreed standards of performance within all areas of hotel, ensuring that all services offered are of the highest standards of quality, service and customer care. To proactively plan to ensure each department's preparedness based on an awareness of business in the Hotel. To follow efficient and effective work methods and systems to facilitate the achievement of high levels of staff productivity in all areas of the hotel, ensuring that adequate cover is provide in the most cost efficient manner and to ensure cost effectiveness with regard to overstaffing. To assist management in the control of costs throughout all areas of the hotel, in particular energy and wage control. To ensure that rosters are prepared by relevant HOD for all departments. To ensure that meeting rooms are prepared according to function sheets in a timely manner. To attend all relevant meetings and training sessions ensuring positive participation. To work with the Departmental Managers in the control and organisation all staff within the areas, ensuring that required operational standards are achieved and maintained. To set a good example for management and staff with regard to punctuality, attendance, - attitude and application to work. To maintain fair discipline and to foster a spirit of co-operation and pride in the daily work lives of the management and staff members throughout the operation. To chair the daily briefing when applicable and communicate days activities to all. To assist Management with Staff Recruitment, Training & Management. To be flexible with regard to working hours in order to handle any unexpected requirements. Dependent on business levels within the hotel, you will be required to assist with duties as directed by Management. These duties may include assistance in duties/operations in all areas of the hotel and/or its operation. What are we looking for? Previous experience in a similar role is essential. The successful candidate must have superior interpersonal skills, empathy and customer service skills. The ability to motivate and lead junior members of staff. strong communication skills. Proactive and self-motivated. Flexibility is an essential requirement of this position with a strong ability to multitask. Must be an excellent team player as well as work well on their own initiative. A strong understanding of reputation management. Excellent planning and organisation skills.
