What you need to know. You will work as a Front Office Manager for our client, a leading and renowned hotel in Co. Kilkenny. This is a permanent job with a competitive salary. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will manage two busy reception desks and a team of staff, and be a proud ambassador for the hotel offering a warm and efficient service. Your new job. Key duties & responsibilities: To have full and up to date knowledge of the hotel products and services. To ensure all telephone calls are handled politely and efficiently. Welcomes guests as soon as they arrive with great care and attention. To handle all enquiries promptly, ensuring the customer receives a friendly, professional and efficient response that accurately meets their needs. To process the Night reports and the morning reports. To actively participate in maximising revenue through up-selling. Anticipates guests` needs and takes them into consideration. Handles any guest complaints and/or remarks; provides a response as soon as possible. To pro-actively seek feedback, taking action on comments raised in order to ensure that we maintain and build long-term customer partnerships. To ensure all legal and statutory regulations and responsibilities are met in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues and our customers. Rate management – manage and oversee daily on all third party sites. To handle all reservations through different channels (via email/ fax/telephone/ website) efficiently out of normal operating hours and ensure the front desk agent on duty does same. Support total revenue management function. To liaise with the Management and team in order to ensure the smooth operation of Revenue processes and functions within the individual unit covered. To attend all necessary internal hotel meetings, i.e. function sheet meetings, operation meetings etc, to fully represent the Revenue department when needed. To maintain departmental brand standards and are reviewed constantly. To ensure security of all property and stocks and that all keys are included in office key system. To carry out any ad-hoc or supplementary duties as deemed necessary by management. What are we looking for? Previous experience in a similar reception role in the Hospitality sector – ESSENTIAL. The successful candidate must have superior interpersonal skills, empathy and customer service skills. Report writing skills and strong communication skills. Strong computer skills. Proactive and self-motivated. Flexibility is an essential requirement of this position with a strong ability to multitask. The ability to lead a team and motivate others. Previous experience recruiting, coaching and appraising a team. Must be an excellent team player as well as work well on their own initiative. A strong understanding of reputation management.
