We are recruiting a Residential Service Care Assistant on behalf of our Homecare Client in Kilkenny. This is an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Care Assistant with FETAC LEVEL 5 qualification. This is a full-time position with 39 hours per week - Shift, Evening, Overnight and Weekend work, supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Difficulties. Caring, Person Centred, Self-Motivated and Enthusiastic person. You must have completed FETAC LEVEL 5 Care of the Elderly, or in the process of completing same. Experience in Intellectual Disability would be a distinct advantage. Experience in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder to live a good life. Managing complex behaviours. Ability to work as part of a team. Experience with risk assessments and care plans. Have a theoretical understanding of Intellectual Disability. Excellent communication skills with proven ability to develop positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Computer literacy. Ability to work on your own initiative. Human Rights Based Approach. Positive Attitude & Openness to Change. Effective Communication & Working Relationships. Excellent Communication Skills both written and verbal. Demonstration of reliability and punctuality. A Full Clean Driving Licence is essential. DUTIES. Work as part of the team with the line manager in ensuring that service objectives are met and reviewed so as to maintain, improve and develop the service. To manage risk in a systematic way that is embedded in a culture of safety, welfare and quality of life for residents. Supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Difficulties, ensuring that they achieve their full potential. Assisting with intimate care. Liaising appropriately with service. Facilitation and support of individual programmes of meaningful activities. Supporting service users with regular exercise and outdoor activities. Key Worker Role. To provide quality person centered care to meet the needs of our residents. To promote a caring environment for our residents through high standards of professional practice which are conducive to their physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual well-being.
