Description

The Role. Maintain an updated and satisfactory Safety Policy, Safety Statement and Safety Manual. Duties will include assisting in review and update of safety management system including work procedures, risk assessments, Conduct site audits, safety inductions and reporting. Will report to the operations manager. Be very familiar and up to date on all Health and Safety regulations and legal requirements and develop our systems to assist in maintain legislative compliance. Responsible for the effective H&S training of all employees by facilitating and undertaking same. Monitor H&S performance throughout the plant through regular audits, check and inspections. Ensure speedy corrective action in the case of non conformances. Coordinate the setting of H&S goals for the plant and provide regular feedback and two way communication to add between employees and management. Coordinate continual improvement programs on emergency response programs. Carry out plant risk assessments. Ensure adequate monitoring of all significant safety risks through out the plant. Organise and chair regular safety committee meetings. Responsible for all H&S documentation relating to the site. Coordinate with management and supervisors to ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards. Maintain adequate Health and Safety records. The Person. Degree level in Health and Safety or a technical discipline. Min. 2 years experience in a H&S role preferably in construction or quarrying environment. Ability to project a thorough understanding of all Health and safety matters. Strong experience, knowledge & understanding of H&S management systems. Good understanding of Irish & E.U legislation on health and safety affairs. Ability to communicate and work with people inside and outside the company as necessary to execute these responsibilities. Strong training background and ability to train all staff on all matters.
